We’ve recently returned from Tampa, and we’re proud to have attended another successful Microsoft Dynamics GP User Group (GPUG) Summit. The annual conference brings together the country’s leading professionals who use the business accounting software for several days of workshops, speakers and networking to learn the newest advancements in the system and what they can do to make their companies stronger.
This year the conference had more than 730 attendees and 185 educational sessions, including a talk by keynote speaker and former NFL Coach Tony Dungy. Tony is one of only a few people who have won a Super Bowl as both a player and a coach and had great advice on what makes an organization successful. He spoke on the importance of teamwork, hard work and accountability and gave the example of how quarterback Peyton Manning would drive three hours twice a week to mentor and train wide receiver Anthony Gonzalez – then an Ohio State student – to prepare him for the NFL. This kind of dedication and teamwork is what makes an organization strong, he said. It was a great speech.
We were also proud to share our expertise and host two workshops of our own, led by Metafile’s Regional Sales Manager Doug Bertram. Our first, “Best Practices for Managing Document and Workflow Automation,” discussed how companies can maintain a competitive advantage by using document management systems, including paper vs. electronic capture options, data extraction techniques, system integration, document retention and more. The second, “Pitch the Paper Clips and Move to Paperless ERP,” focused on MetaViewer, Metafile’s signature paperless invoicing software, and how its integration with Microsoft Dynamics can be used to reduce inefficiencies and increase overall productivity.
We’re excited to implement the newest information we’ve learned into our own practices and looking forward to attending again next year in St. Louis!
