Microsoft Releases Updated Dynamics NAV 2013 R2

During the much anticipated and sold out Directions EMEA 2013 conference in Vienna, Austria, Microsoft announced the availability of Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 R2. With a projected release in early October, the updated solution boasts faster implementation and greater support for both small and mid-sized customers.

The Edge blog reports the new update will build upon the June 2013 release, which integrates with Windows Azure for cloud deployment. Paul White, Senior Director, Microsoft Dynamics ERP shared a few of the below highlights:

  • Microsoft Dynamics NAV can now be deployed as an application to on-premises and cloud-based SharePoint sites, with single sign on and a consistent look and feel across the Microsoft Dynamics NAV Web client and Office 365. Deeper data integration capabilities will enable customers to extend Microsoft Dynamics NAV business processes with SharePoint workflows and Web parts, and take full advantage of Microsoft Excel and the Excel Web App.
  • Enhanced cash management capabilities will help customers better manage risk and drive business growth with features such as automatic and manual payment processing, bank reconciliation tools, and support for SEPA direct debit and credit transfer.
  • Powerful usability enhancements across both the Web and desktop clients make Microsoft Dynamics NAV even simpler to use and faster to deploy. A restyled user experience aligned with Office 365 makes it even easier for people to access, view and edit business data and processes.

This is exciting news as we continue to see significant growth and momentum within cloud-based solutions and deployment. We are especially excited to see what new possibilities will come from the updated cash management capabilities as various business sectors can see exponential benefits from solutions that enable more streamlined financial workflows.

Our team will be sure to keep the MetaBlog updated with news on Dynamics upgrades and new releases. In the meantime, feel free to check out The Edge for additional information on this exciting announcement.
